The Story
The women this house dresses are rarely standing still. They cross cities before nine, carry other people’s mornings, and arrive at evening with grace somehow intact. Grace in Motion is tailored for exactly that life, a collection built on the conviction that modesty was never meant to slow a woman down. Cut well, it is the opposite: cloth that moves with her so completely that she forgets it, and is free.
Movement is engineered here the way nacre is layered: patiently, invisibly. Pleats are pressed to open mid-stride and settle closed the moment she rests, like a breath held and released. Waistbands hold without pressing; hems are weighted to fall, not fly. The Psalm Pleat Skirt carries twenty-three knife pleats in porcelain crepe: a shepherd’s psalm counted in cloth, never in words, opening and closing with every step like a page gently turned.
The word itself travels on the inside. The Sojourn Trench lines its featherweight gabardine with a jacquard into which Acts 17 : 28 is woven, a text revealed only when the coat comes off and is folded over a stranger’s chair. It is the collection’s whole theology in one gesture: the life of faith is not worn outward like a banner; it is the lining of everything, closest in the moments of arrival and rest.
So these are garments for the woman in movement who is not, at her centre, moved. She walks quickly and is unhurried. She carries the day and is carried. In him she lives and moves; the cloth simply keeps up.
The Pieces
The first pieces of the collection, each described as it is imagined at the making table, and each keeping its word on the inside.
